This is an all inclusive premium class that exceeds the state requirements for a MN Permit to Carry a Pistol. The fee includes the classroom portion, the range time, targets, and gun rental if necessary.

Classes are held at the North Metro Range in Maple Grove Saturday mornings from 8:30 to about 2:00 depending on class size.

This class is for everyone. If you are an experienced permit holder looking for a renewal class, I promise you’ll learn something new. If you’ve never held a handgun before, you will receive the instruction you need to be able to handle one safely.

Home Defense Firearms Training – $79

This class deals with the fundamentals of defending yourself in your home with a firearm. Topics include developing a home protection plan, firearms and shooting basics, the legal use of force, and the emotional and physical effects of a violent attack and what happens after. Handguns, rifles and shotguns will be covered with strong emphasis on safe handling and storage. Also included is the Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals book by Michael Martin. The book is essential for you as a reference manual as you progress down your journey as a responsible gun owner. About 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

An optional add on to this class is an opportunity to shoot several different handguns and a home defense rifle. This is basic instruction only but will help familiarize you with some of the options available. Add $30.

Situational Awareness and Personal Defense – $200

This class is designed for groups of up to about 25 to be held in your training room. The cost is a flat rate for however many want to attend and lasts about two hours and can be somewhat customized for your group.

We’ll cover situational awareness out in public and in your home, developing a personal and home protection plan, the legal use of force, and the physical issues that can occur during and after a violent encounter including some first aid recommendations.

We will also discuss some of the more common tools of self-defense including pepper spray, tactical pens, stun guns, flashlights, and even self-defense firearms basics.
This class is heavy on how to avoid potential conflict, developing your own personal protection plan, and on the legalities of using force in self-defense.
